South Paris – June A (Edgerly) Wing, 81, a long time resident of Market Square Health Care Center, went into the loving arms of her Lord on Tuesday, April 26.

She was born on April 23, 1930, in Bath, the daughter of Merton and Laura (Poirier) Edgerly.

June was a homemaker most of her life. At one time she ran the old Red’s Restaurant in Mechanic Falls and ran her own bakery at her home in Norway.

She was a member of the Poland Fire Auxiliary, Mechanic Falls Fire Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary No.72, South Paris, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary #9787 South Paris, where she served as president and secretary for many years. She also was an avid volunteer at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris until her illness.

June’s favorite pastime was cooking; she could make a mean lemon meringue pie. She loved having all her family together for the holidays where she did all of the cooking. Any reason to her was a good reason to cook.

She also enjoyed reading, knitting, and gardening. She especially loved camping out at the bluegrass festivals throughout Maine. June also loved animals and adopted many cats and dogs over the years.
