FARMINGTON — Heather Rhinhart, a NorthStar EMT and AmeriCorps Emergency Response Corps member, recently coordinated a care package project for U.S. Marine Corps soldiers serving overseas.

The project was the product of a sustained effort throughout the MSAD 58 school system, with Kingfield, Strong, Stratton and Phillips elementary schools leading the effort. Donations from the students and NorthStar/AmeriCorps staff resulted in 125 pounds of food and personal items collected and then shipped to the Marines.

“A large quantity of goods were sent out to soldiers in diverse locations around the world with Heather’s coordination and the great collaboration among the schools,” David Robie, NorthStar director, said. “Look for more community efforts spearheaded by her throughout the year as she demonstrates NorthStar and AmeriCorps’ commitment to local communities.”

NorthStar EMS is the regional ambulance service for Greater Franklin County and is part of the Franklin Community Health Network family.
