AUBURN — Seniors at Edward Little High School will present “Is There a Doctor in the House?” by Tim Kelly, based on the best of Moliere on Saturday and Sunday, May 7-8.

In the show, each quack physician is devoted to the Grease Gulch Hippopatomus Oath — “If you can’t convince ’em, confuse ’em.” And this they do with rapid-fire jokes and slapstick comedy.

“Is There a Doctor in the House?” is a new kind of classic cowboy-country comedy with a variety of eccentric western characters. Lucy Canary (played by Hannah Martin), the mayor’s daughter, loves Lester Goodbe, (Alex Richards), a likable cowboy. But Lucy’s father, played by Josh Libby, insists that she marry Otis Lackginger, (Tom Haskins), a rich, old coot with one foot in the grave.

With the help of her friend Blossom (Sadie Bonang), Lucy pretends to lose her voice to stall the marriage and everyone goes on a search to find a doctor to cure her. They find a pack of phony medics, played by Alex Smith, Ben Armstrong, Jen Rioux and Nate Fairchild.

Rounding out the cast are Garrett Weldon, Frankie Lally, Caroline Dunn, Zach Olstein, Noah Sherwood, Cassie Webster, Myranda Tichy, Bri Robbins, Brenna Rasmussen, Kayla Grant, Larissa Montminy, Emily Marron, Alissa Hoy, TJ Marston, Eileen McKinney, Saydi Voisine and Evan Favreau.

The show will be at 7 p.m. on May 7 and 2 p.m. on May 8 at the home of the Lewiston-Auburn Community Theatre on Academy Street. Tickets are $5 at the door.
