AUBURN — Jeannine Claudette “Claudie” Getchell, of 89 Western Promenade, Auburn, died May 1, at the Androscoggin Hospice House following a long illness.
Claudie was born in Auburn, Nov. 24, 1936, the daughter of Joseph H. and Bertha (Amnotte) Dionne.
She graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1955. She married Ronald A. Getchell on June 21, 1958. They were married for 52 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and best friend.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Ronald A. Getchell Jr. and Scott J. Getchell, both of Auburn; two grandchildren, Ryan and Meagan Getchell; two brothers, Roger H. Dionne of Easton, Pa., and Wilfred and Frances Langelier of Wicomico Church, Va.; one sister, Georgette “Jeri” and James Coulter of Dayton, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Natalie and Kenneth Alden of Leeds; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her oldest sister, Constance Barron of Concord, N.H. in 2009.
