DEAR SUN SPOTS: The third annual Spring Fling indoor yard sale will be held at the Rumford United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 14, from 8:30 a.m. to noon (no early birds, please) at 455 Linnell St., Rumford.

Coffee and muffins will be available for refreshment. The entire fellowship hall will be full of treasures at bargain prices. There will be a bake table and the plant pavilion will be located in front of the church (inside if weather is inclement).

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have a painting on canvas that’s 16- by 20-inches and depicts an old fishing pier with a couple of old fishing shacks and a large old ship with a dinghy tied to the side. ANSWER: Even if Sun Spots knew anything about art, which she does not, it is impossible to render an opinion sight unseen. You will need to take it to a gallery for an authoritative answer, but Sun Spots guesses that Florence denotes the place (Italy) rather than the painter.

DEAR SUNSPOTS: I am wondering if you can help me on two inquires:

Last year — I can’t remember what month– you responded to a repeat request for information on the lead (heavy metal?) content in pottery, stoneware, ceramic dishes, and also, if I remember right, leaded glass. I would really appreciate a review of that finding.

Don’t know if you can help me with this one, but in March, the Sun Journal published a Dr. Donohue response that gave guidelines for food quantities or portion amounts that are easy to remember. Thank you in advance for any assistance. — No Name via email

Sun Spots searched for the Dr. Donohue column but couldn’t find it. It is difficult to search for a column without uncommon words or a precise phrase to limit the results. Perhaps another reader will have saved that column and will share it with you.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: On April 14 I visited Kohl’s in Auburn. As I was walking to the store, I heard music coming from a small red car. One of the songs I heard was “Are You Lonesome Tonight.” I asked the gentleman in the car if it was the radio or a CD playing, and he showed me the CD. He said his wife bought the CD at Walmart in Auburn.
