LEWISTON — May programs at The Center for Wisdom’s Women feature a field trip to Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary from 10:30 a.m. to 1:3o p.m. Thursday, May 19. The easy guided walk will be led by Susan Hayward and will include looking at birds and wildflowers and end with a simple picnic lunch. Sign up at the center for a ride. Wear good walking shoes, a hat and bug repellant.

A workshop on ‘Addiction and Families” will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 26. Lise Pelletier will talk about co-dependency, “Adult Children of Alcoholic” issues, and how to live through it all. The center also hosts an Al-Anon Lunch Group for women each Wednesday at 12:15.

Wisdom Circle with Sarah Wood from the Sexual Assault Crisis Center will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays, May 10 and 24. This is a support group that currently focuses on wellness and self care.

Ongoing one-on-one offerings at the center include “Inner Spirit” with Pam Beliveau from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, May 16. Pam offers 15-20 minute conversations for spiritual direction. Shanna Rogers from the Neighborhood Housing League is at the center from 9 to 10 a.m. each Tuesday to consult with anyone about landlord and tenant issues.

The Fibromyalgia Support Group meets on Monday mornings 10:30 to noon. A Writers Workshop gathers every Monday morning at 10:30. The QiGong (Chi Gong) class continues on the 5th and 31st at 1 p.m. It is a simple, relaxing ancient Chinese form of exercise. Denise Dill from St. Mary’s Nutrition Center of Maine will teach her monthly class at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 16. The focus is on eating well on a tight budget and includes sampling of seasonal dishes. Participants go home with a recipe for each.

Other regular programs include a painting class; a scrapbooking group and card making class; and small groups that focus on building self-esteem. There is a craft making workshop each Tuesday morning at 10, except for the 17th, which is a Bingo morning.
