AUBURN — Kathleen “Katie” R. Bell, 31, a resident of Old Danville Road in Auburn, died Tuesday, May 3, at the Hospice House, following a courageous battle with Leiomysarcoma.

She was born March 1, 1980, in Framingham, Mass., the daughter of Peter E. and Nancy C. (Lee) Bell Sr. Katie grew up in Natick, Mass., attending school there, where she was a cheerleader at Wilson Junior High in Natick. In 1994, her family moved to New Gloucester, where she graduated from Gray-New Gloucester High School in 1998. She had been employed as a medical secretary for Tri County Mental Health.

She loved animals including cats, dogs and ponies. While growing up, she was an avid horseback rider earning many ribbons at horse shows in her earlier years. As a young woman, she enjoyed fashion and was passionate about shopping which always made her happy.

Katie loved nature but her heart was always by the ocean. She was a sweet and loving girl who will be sadly missed.

Survivors include her mother, Nancy Carol Bell of Auburn; two brothers, Peter E. Bell Jr. of Fresno, Calif., and John G. Bell and his wife, Deya, of Pompano Beach, Fla.; one sister, Deborah L. Baker and her husband, Rick, of Auburn; and six nieces and nephews, Karissa, Justine, Kayla, Brendan, Kendra and Andrew.

She was predeceased by her father, Peter E. Bell Sr., May 5, 2007.
