RUMFORD — An elderly pedestrian struck by a vehicle while crossing Rumford Avenue Sunday remained in critical condition Monday night, a Central Maine Medical Center nursing supervisor said.

George Dubendris, 73, of Rumford, was taken to CMMC in a LifeFlight helicopter with head injuries shortly after being hit by a truck driven by Katrina Milliken, 36, also of Rumford, at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Milliken was exiting the Rumford Avenue rotary when she hit Dubendris, who was in a crosswalk, police reported Sunday.

Rumford police could not comment on a further investigation of the accident made Monday. No charges have been filed in the accident, Rumford acting Cpl. Donald Miller said Monday night.
