PORTLAND — The Maine International Trade Center announces that May 20 has been selected as Maine International Trade Day 2011.

It will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Marriott at Sable Oaks, 200 Sable Oaks Drive, South Portland. The theme is: The World in 2020: Emerging Markets for Growth.

Trade Day 2011 will focus on how Maine companies can access customers in nontraditional markets. Highlights include a panel discussion on successes and challenges in emerging markets with speakers from Fairchild Semiconductor, IDEXX Laboratories, Stonewall Kitchen and SPX Communication Technology. There will also be a business networking reception, an international trade and investment awards luncheon, a China trade and investment session, and a keynote address by Allan Sloan, senior editor at large for Fortune Magazine
