CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire man was charged with murder and two others with conspiracy in the death of a Maine woman whose body was found in a ski area pond, not far from where her daughter was found unharmed in an idling car.

The New Hampshire attorney general’s office announced the three arrests in a statement Wednesday. It listed only the names and charges, not the circumstances of the killing.

Senior Assistant Attorney General Jane Young declined to comment Wednesday on motive or the men’s relationship, if any, to the slain woman.

The body of Krista Dittmeyer, of Portland, Maine, was found April 27, five days after she was last seen and four days after her daughter was found in the car in the parking lot of the Cranmore Mountain ski area.

Anthony Papile, 28, of Ossipee, was charged with second-degree murder. Trevor Ferguson, 23, of Tamworth, and Michael Petelis, 28, of Ossipee, were charged with one count each of conspiracy to commit robbery.

The three men were in custody and were due to appear in Ossipee District Court on Wednesday afternoon.

Dittmeyer grew up in Bridgton, Maine, about 25 miles from Conway, where her body was found in a snowmaking pond. She moved to Portland shortly after she graduated from high school in 2008.

Officials have not released the results of an autopsy or listed a cause of death. They had said it could be several weeks before the autopsy results are known.

Dittmeyer’s 14-month old daughter is being cared for by her grandmother.
