AUBURN — Willis topped Pepsi, 6-3, Saturday in Auburn Suburban Little league major baseball. Caleb Hebert led Willis on the mound. Solo homers by C.J. Jipson and Jarod Norcross-Plourde paced Pepsi’s offense.

New Auburn

AUBURN — Poisson’s of New Auburn Little League improved its early season record to 3-0 with an 11-4 victory over Gendron’s of South Lewiston Little League in a major division game.

Zach Boyd allowed four runs on six hits and three walks in five innings while striking out 11 for the win. B.J. Demers closed the game with two strikeouts in relief.

Matthew Purdin, Alex Cook, Andre Coachman and Demers each had an RBI for the offense. Nick Powers led the attack for Gendron’s with a two-hit, three-run night , including a deep blast that landed on the net of the batting cage beyond the left field fence. Austin Merritt also had two doubles for Gendron’s.

South Lewiston

LEWISTON — Dube Gravel of South Lewiston Little League defeated Walmart of New Auburn Little League, 11-10.

Zach Chouinard started the pitching for Walmart and helped his cause with two extra-base hits. Brandon Asselin also belted two hits and finished up the game for Walmart.

Matt Forgues had the mound at the start of the game for Dube. Jeremy Madore closed it out. Both pitchers benefited from strong defense. Timely hits by both Cam Cote and Forgues led to the winning run.

ASLL Minor Softball

AUBURN — Prudential and Ninety-Nine played an entertaining Auburn Suburban Little League minor softball game Monday evening.

Alyssa Burke of 99 was involved in two of the most exciting plays of the game. First she crushed a deep fly towards right field that was sure to go for extra bases that was robbed by Prudential’s Katherine Gilpatrick. Then she got redemption when she stole an Anna LeBlanc moonshot that was certain to drop in for a hit.

Sara Younk, Bella Coulombe, Cassady Bussiere and Karma Bell were repeat hitters for Prudential,as were Sarah Lachance, Michelle Cowie, Andrea Demers, and Kendall “K.K.” Mathieu for 99. Prudential’s Hannah Olcott and Madison Rush and 99’s Maizy Demers and Alexis Hart sparkled defensively.

Bridgton Rec

BRIDGTON — Bridgton Recreation would like to thank all of the players, parents, and volunteers that made Bridgton’s first Pitch, Hit and Run competition a huge success. The event, held May 7, was part of a national initiative to give young athletes an opportunity to participate in skills competitions with a chance to advance to a sectional event being held at The Ball Park in Old Orchard Beach on May 22. The nation’s top young athletes will compete at this years Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

The following athletes advanced to the sectionals: Aden Richardson, Robert Stuart, Colby Chaine, Cody Allen, Mark Mayo, Tyler Walker, Kyle Desouza, Samantha Desouza, Haley Fernald and Madison Rock.
