There was a Sun Journal article April 16 that showed a picture of Nancy Pelosi in front of a group holding placards prominently printed with “Hands off my Medicare.” That spoke volumes about her hypocrisy as she is the leading politician pushing ObamaCare, which includes $500 billion in cuts to Medicare.

As so often happens with the liberal media, that fact was not included in the story.

Another issue about Pelosi and other liberals has to do with their inability or unwillingness to find areas to cut spending. A recent letter from Citizens Against Government Waste identifies a partial list, as provided by the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office, that could save at least $200 billion.

It includes that there are 15 agencies overseeing food-safety laws; 20 separate programs to help the homeless; 80 programs for economic development; 82 federal programs to improve teacher quality; 80 programs to help disadvantaged people with transportation; and 47 programs for job training and employment.

The most outrageous example of waste is probably the 56 programs in 20 agencies promoting financial literacy, while the government itself is on the verge of bankruptcy.

Actually, the nation is already bankrupt. The president simply hasn’t announced it yet.
