PARIS — A woman accused of being involved in a Rumford-Mexico cocaine ring pleaded guilty Tuesday to attempting to traffic scheduled drugs.

Kim Towers, 38, of Mexico, alleged that she bought 7 grams of cocaine from Timothy Clark, who police say was making regular trips to Massachusetts to buy cocaine, which he and others allegedly sold in Rumford and Mexico.

Towers was originally charged with Class B trafficking, but her charge was reduced to a Class C and she was offered a one-year deferred disposition. If Towers undergoes a substance abuse evaluation and avoids drug use for a year, the charge will be dropped.

She will be subject to random drug tests and searches and must pay $10 a month as an administrative supervision fee.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, Towers was arrested Dec. 3, shortly after Clark was found with several ounces of cocaine. Towers was one of several people who had bought cocaine from Clark, the District Attorney’s Office said.

At Towers’ home on Osgood Avenue in Mexico, police found evidence of cocaine, cocaine use, crack cocaine manufacture and crack use. Towers was cooperative, according to Maine Drug Enforcement Agency investigators who spoke with her.

Timothy Clark, 40 of Mexico, Kevin Pettegrow, 29, of Rumford, Kaine Adam Hodgkins, 22, of Roxbury, Uniah H. Leidy, 30, of Rumford and Dale A. Korhonen, 42, of Jay face trafficking charges in connection with the alleged cocaine smuggling ring.
