FARMINGTON — A stroke awareness seminar will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, in the Bass Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Health care providers, speech therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and others with an interest in stroke care are the intended audience.

Stroke is the fourth leading cause of death in America. The purpose of the seminar is to increase awareness of multi-disciplinary evidence-based best practices in stroke care. Presentation topics will include, among others: new advances in stroke care and treatment, building stroke systems of care in Maine, medications for acute treatment, and stroke rehabilitation.

The tuition fee of $30 includes continuing education credits, continental breakfast, refreshments and lunch. Credit is being requested from approved medical specialty organizations.

There is no fee for employees of Franklin Community Health Networks and its affiliates.
