NEW SHARON — The New Sharon Historical Society met April 21 at its new home in the old New Sharon Library.
President Dana Dill gave an overview of activities since the October meeting. A brief business meeting mentioned donations made in memory of John Neal, a longtime member who passed away in January.
The society continues to settle in to its new home; several old and new projects are yet to be completed.
With more people searching for information, members have developed a filing system, separated and cataloged various items of interest, set up files for individual families, independent church files, cemetery records and more.
The society’s mission is to continue its historical research of the town and its people, and to be able to expand services.
Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month at 1 p.m. at the society building. The next meeting will be held on May 19. All are welcome. Member dues are $5.
The Museum Room will be open to the public Saturdays, June 4 through Sept. 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. Special times can be arranged by calling President Dana Dill 778-4044 or 860-8611.
