PORTLAND — Twelve-time Grammy winner and Billboard Century Award recipient Emmylou Harris will take the stage on Saturday, July 30, at the State Theatre.

Harris, whose contribution as a singer and songwriter spans 40 years, was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008. She has recorded more than 25 albums and has lent her talents to countless fellow artists’ recordings.

Harris’ latest album, “Hard Bargain,” was released April 26 on Nonesuch Records. It follows her acclaimed 2008 release, “All I Intended to Be.”

A true modern innovator, Harris has flowed effortlessly between genres, achieving popularity in pop, folk, country and now alternative. The common bridge is her vocal style and a gift for discovering the heart of a song.

Though she is one of the most admired and influential woman in contemporary country music, Harris’ scope extends far beyond. She has recorded with such diverse artists as Ryan Adams, Beck, Elvis Costello, Johnny Cash, Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, Tammy Wynette, Neil Young, The Chieftains, Lyle Lovett, Roy Orbison, The Band, Willie Nelson and George Jones.

Special guest, The Civil Wars, is a duo comprised of California-to-Nashville transplant Joy Williams and her Alabaman partner, John Paul White, who travel without a backup band. Their first full-length album, “Barton Hollow,” features the bare-bones arrangements that fans hear on the road. fleshed out with the barest of acoustic accoutrements.
