AUBURN — Jean “Paul” St. Jean, 66, of Lisbon, died Wednesday, May 11, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, following a courageous 5 1/2 year battle with cancer.

He was born in Lewiston, July 10, 1944, the son of Noel R. and Anita V. Marquis St. Jean. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of 1963. Following high school, he served in the U.S. Army, and then worked as a motorcycle and car mechanic. He drove a tractor trailer for many years for Steel Service Center. He then worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator, most recently for Gendron & Gendron Construction until last year, retiring due to illness.

On Dec. 21, 1984, he married Jean Jutras in Lisbon. He raced in motocross, stock car, and ice racing.

Besides his wife of Lisbon, he is survived by a daughter, April and husband, James Edwards, of Gorham; two brothers, Guy and wife, Jacqueline, of Lewiston and Jacques and wife, Pauline, of Lewiston; and a grandson, Gavin Edwards.
