CARTHAGE — Four men. Four microphones. No instruments. Such is the formula for Canada’s celebrated a cappella group Cadence, scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Skye Theatre Performing Arts Center.

The quartet will also perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 23, at Unity College Center for the Performing Arts in Unity.

Cadence has been entertaining audiences worldwide for more than a decade with its innovative jazz arrangements, genre-hopping covers and eclectic originals. The foursome is also known for its infectious energy and wild stage antics.

Cadence’s albums have earned three Juno nominations, and the group’s 2010 release, “Speak Easy,” hit the Top 10 on the Jazz Radio charts in France.

The quartet has played to sold-out concert halls and toured jazz festivals, sharing the stage with artists such as Bobby McFerrin, Quincy Jones and Gordon Lightfoot.

There will be a preshow jam session one hour prior to curtain at both venues.

For tickets, $15, call Skye at 562-4445 or the UCCPA at 948-7469. Skye Theater is at 2 Highland Drive off Winter Hill Road and U.S. Route 2 in Carthage. UCCPA is at 42 Depot St., Unity.
