PORTLAND — Linda Alice Clark, 63, of Haines Meadow Road, Buxton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 12, at Mercy Hospital.
She was born in Rockland on Dec. 20, 1947, a daughter of the late David and Leona (Swazey) Young, and graduated from Rockland High School.
For many years, she worked for AT&T as an operator; however, her work at Jack Memorial School in Buxton and Andover schools libraries was what was most important to her.
Linda was a member of the Pythian Sisters in Buxton, Susie Carr Chapter No. 181 in Sangerville – OES, Andover Congregational Church, Waterboro Eagles Aerie No. 4392, the Maine APA League for nearly eight years, and a Cub Scout leader in earlier years.
Linda enjoyed playing pool and collecting stamps. She was also an avid Western fan — western movies with Gene Autry and the atmosphere of the old West was a long pastime.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Daniel A. Clark; daughter, Heather Clark, of Concord, N.H.; twin sister, Lorraine S. Coakley, of Plaistow, N.H.; twin
brothers, Robert Young of South Thomaston, and Richard Young of Livingston, Texas; granddaughter, Trinity Bryanne Clark; and many kids who called her “Mom.”
Linda was predeceased by her son, Bryan D.A. Clark; and a brother, David Grant Young Jr.
