JAY — No one was injured Monday morning when a loaded, logging truck rolled over on Route 17 in North Jay.

Reed Lee, 44, of Wayne, was traveling north on the road toward Dixfield when he veered to the right to avoid another vehicle in front him that was making a left turn into Birch Land Cemetery, Jay police Chief Larry White said.

“Driver inattention appears to be a cause factor in the accident,” he said.

The accident occurred at about 8:40 a.m.

The truck was fully loaded with logs when it rolled onto the passenger side, he said. The logs that spilled were dumped off the road.

The road didn’t have to be closed.

The 1989 Ford may possibly be a total loss, White said.

Police Cpl. Jeff Fournier was assisted by Detective Richard Caton IV at the scene. Jay Fire Rescue Department provided traffic control at the scene.
