LIVERMORE FALLS — Police are investigating a burglary and theft of an undisclosed amount of cash from a home on upper Park Street on Sunday, police said.

A resident had left in the morning and when she returned in the afternoon, she found curtains down and dishes pushed aside and then realized money was missing, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.

It appears entry was gained through a window and a screen was pried open, Steward said.

Officer Vern Stevens is handling the case.

Sgt. Steve Allen is also investigating an attempted burglary at Pike’s Corner Oasis on Pike Street, also Route 133, where a rear overhead door was damaged early Friday, he said.

An alarm went off and police were notified at 3:45 a.m.

There was about $300 in damage, Steward said.
