LEWISTON — Xtreme Self Defense of Highland Avenue earned five first places and three thirds at a grappling world championship in New Jersey earlier this month.

The grapplers trained under Sensei Bobby Morissette.

Mike Williams and Ezra Rogers each won two first-place distinctions. Austin Dominique won a first and a third. Dylan Dominique won two thirds.

The locals competed against grapplers from Russia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and other United States gyms.
