NORWAY — Togus the Cat, a 23-pound Maine Coon Cat who has become popular through on-camera appearances on morning “Storm Center” reports on WCSH6 and WLBZ2, is stepping from the screen onto book shelves.

Owner Don Carrigan, and Togus, feed the live storm reports by Skype camera from his kitchen table in Walpole.

Carrigan, who wrote the children’s book “Togus: A Coon Cat Finds A Home,” the true story of how the big, red cat with gigantic eyes was rescued and came to live with him and his wife, Donna, will be at Books N Things, 430 Main St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21.

With him will be artist Tom Block, also of Walpole, who illustrated the book published by Maine Authors Publishing of Rockland.
