OXFORD — Oxford County Retired Educators will meet Friday, May 20, with a 10:30 a.m. social gathering, 11 a.m. business meeting and noon lunch, at the American Legion Hall, Route 121. The program will be necrology and the fundraiser will be a plant sale. To reserve a lunch, call 743-7677.
‘Metaphor’ service
PARIS — Silver Moore-Leamon will lead the 10 a.m. worship service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris, on Sunday, May 22. Her sermon topic will be “What’s A Metaphor?” The music will be directed by Forest Perkins and the choir. The Sunday School will be led by Renee Wales. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. All are welcome.
Yard sale
SOUTH PARIS — A huge yard sale fundraiser will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 27, and Saturday, May 28, at the Thrifty Gift Shop parking lot, 659 Park St. There will be new items, furniture, clothing, toys, collectibles and household items.
Volunteers are needed from 5 a.m. on Friday until 5 p.m. on Saturday. To help out at any time on these days, call Peggy at 357-7072. All money raised will support the food pantry. Rain dates will be June 3 and 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
