WOODSTOCK — Environmental appreciation and stewardship are the focus of studies for Woodstock Elementary School students this spring.

On Friday, fourth- and fifth-graders held a water festival, learning how precious water is, how to conserve and how to clean it.

Also Friday, second-graders participated in an environmental day in the woods and ponds of northwest Bethel. The students learned about the life  cycles of different flora and fauna in the wilderness.

The University of Southern Maine’s Southworth Planetarium and the Maine Wildlife Park in Gray will host the school’s third-graders Tuesday, May 25.

Woodstock fifth-graders will test their underwater robots at the 4-H Camp in Bryant Pond on Thursday, May 26. The students’ robots, hopefully, will help control the pond’s milfoil infestation.

Promotion night for the graduating fifth-graders of Woodstock will be held Wednesday, June 8.
