LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on May 16 were as follows.

1st: Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos, 2nd: Lue Bilodeau and Luke Merry, 3rd: Rosemarie Goodwin and Les Buzzell, 4th: Ellie and Lindy Wigton; 1st in B: Ellie and Lindy Wigton, 2nd: Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird, 3rd: Judy Abromson and Larry Fortier; 1st in C: Ellie and George Wigton, 2nd: Judy Abromson and Larry Fortier.

Duplicate bridge

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met May 17 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Flight A winners were: 1st, Claire Lyons and Nancy Farmer; 2nd, Nancy Lindgren and Lucille Theriault; 3rd, Fred Letourneau and Rosemarie Goodwin; 4th, Jeanine Kivus and Patricia Quinn. Flight B winners were: 1st, Claire Lyons and Nancy Farmer; 2nd, Mary Anne Trafton and Kathleen Burden. Another game will be played at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 24.

The club also met on May 18 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners were: tied at first, David Lock and Jeanine Kivus with Mary Anne Trafton and Kathleen Burden; 3rd, Patricia Quinn and Rosemarie Goodwin. AUBURN — The Auburn/Lewiston YMCA and Junior Golf Card have partnered to encourage youth and families to spend more time together this summer on the golf course. YMCA members can purchase the Junior Golf Card for $25 and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Y. The cards entitle area youths 17 and under a 50% off discount on golf fees at these participating courses with unlimited amount of play: Apple Valley Golf Course, Cobbossee Colony Golf Course, Fox Ridge Golf Club, Maple Lane Golf Course, Martindale Country Club, The Meadows Golf Club, Pine Acres Golf Club, Prospect Hill Golf Course, Roy’s Golf Center and Turner Highlands. 5k walk, run, jog

BELGRADE — The 2nd annual Friends of the Belgrade Public Library 5k Walk, Run, Jog, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Belgrade Central School. Preregistration is $15, race day $20. POLAND — Poland Spring Heritage Day at the Poland Spring Resort and Preservation Park is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 28. The event will include live music, horse drawn wagon and tractor rides, games and activities for kids and the adults, historic and educational exhibits, contests, craft and community tables and food. There is no gate fee and many activities are free. Proceeds will benefit local charities and the Poland Spring Preservation Society. Children’s Choir

AUBURN — The Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda will share a free concert of hope at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at the United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave.

The choirs have travelled internationally since 1994 as advocates for the estimated 50 million children in Africa orphaned as a result of war, poverty and disease. Accompanied by a team of adults, the choir presents Watoto’s vision and mission through their stories, music and dance. The concert is open to the public. For more information, call 782-3972.

Golf benefit

POLAND — Poland Spring Golf Course will host the Fenn-Ross Cup Heritage Scramble on Sunday, May 29, to benefit the Poland Spring Preservation Society. A continental breakfast will be held at 7:30 a.m. and bagpipe music will begin at 8. Tee time at the historic course begins at 9 a.m. A reception follows with dinner, a beverage and prizes.
