LEWISTON — Carolyn M. Haverinen, 94, of South Paris, died Sunday, May 22, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Paris on Sept. 13, 1916, the daughter of Robert and Ina Mae Bonney Heminway. She graduated from South Paris High School and Farmington Normal School. She married Peter Haverinen. She had been employed as a bookkeeper at Longley’s, Oxford Pickle Co. and W. J. Wheeler Insurance Co., and was a librarian at the Paris Public Library.

Carolyn enjoyed stamp collecting, flowers, bird watching, church suppers and eating out. She had a large collection of Beanie Babies and was an avid Red Sox fan.

She is survived by her son, Richard, of Hampton, Va.; daughter, Nancy Robinson, and husband, Dale, of South Paris; granddaughter, Susan; two great-grandsons; niece, Lynda Ridlon; and several nieces and nephews on the Haverinen side.

She was predeceased by her husband on July 7, 1996.
