NORWAY — Eleanor Jane Keene Thurlow, 93, of Poland, died Wednesday, May 18, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Poland on April 7, 1918, the daughter of Fred and Clara Strout Keene. She worked cleaning, at the wood mill, at the shoe factory and was a housemother for the Job Corps when it was at Poland Spring. She married Ray Elmer Thurlow, who passed away in 1954. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and quilting.

She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Howard, of Poland, Shirley and Mary, of Mechanic Falls, Norman, of Turner, Hugh and Grace, of Auburn, Althea King, of Poland and Florida and Rosalyn Emery, of Poland; children, Linda and Basil Chadbourne, of Oxford, Fred and Suzanne, of North Windham, Dennis and Debbie, of Florida and Michael, of Poland; nine grandchildren, Chris, Basil, Debbie, Ricky, Jason, Rachael, Kathy, Todd and Mandy; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ray; her son, Richard; and her sister, Gertrude Fuller.
