Safe Kids

AUBURN — The Auburn Police Department will sponsor the inaugural Safe Kids Spring Fling from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 27, at Joker’s Family Fun Center, in the Auburn Mall. There will be giveaways, free child identification kits and a discounted pizza buffet.

Cruiz Nites

AUBURN — The United New Auburn Association has announced that the summer season of Cruiz Nites will begin June 3. They will be held from 5:30-8 p.m. every Friday night through Sept. 9, weather permitting, at the Rolly’s Diner parking lot on Mill Street in New Auburn.

Cars and trucks from 1900 to the present day will be on display. There will music from the ’50s, ’60s and early ’70s along with door prizes. Food and soft beverages will be available. There is no admission charge.

Newfoundland Day

NAPLES — The inaugural Newfoundland Day will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, June 3, at the Black Bear Cafe, Route 302. The event will feature Newfoundland cuisine, a screeching in ceremony and giveaways. It will bring people together who are from Newfoundland as well as lots of local Maine people. Irish and Newfoundland music by the Squid Jiggers. No cover charge. No reservations needed. For more information, call Daphne Izer at 240-3788.

Bridge results

LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club met on May 24 at the Multi-Purpose Center. Winners in Flight A were 1st, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; 2nd, Linda Leotsakos and Janet Arey; 3rd, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; 4th, Nancy Lindgren and Leslie Buzzell. Flight B winners were Kathleen Burden and Mary Anne Trafton. Another game will be held at 9 a.m., Tuesday, June 1.

The club also met on May 25 at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Winners were: 1st, Paul Barber and Lucille Theriault; 2nd, Jeanine Kivus and Rosemarie Goodwin; tied at third, Alberta Turner and Lucille Bilodeau with Ron and Connie Reynolds. Another game will be played at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 2, at Schooner Estates. A partner is guaranteed at all local games. For further information, call Lucille Theriault @ 783-0431.
