FARMINGTON — In appreciation for the sacrifices made by our military, soldiers and veterans can adopt animals from the Franklin County Animal Shelter on the Friday and Saturday before Memorial Day at a discounted rate. Call the shelter at 778-2638 for more information.  The shelter is closed on Memorial Day.

Copper is one of the dogs currently available. He is a sweet little boy that loves children. His family, like so many, hit a rough time financially and had to move. This left poor Copper without a home. Copper gets along well with other dogs, cats and rabbits. He would be the perfect addition to most households. Can you give this poor little boy a chance to be happy again?

Thor is another dog up for adoption. He is a mastiff/rotti mix and is about a year and a half old. He is a big boy with a wonderful personality. He loves to go on long walks and loves to play fetch. He is just a naturally happy dog. (We catch him smiling.) He knows sit and lay down. His favorite treat is a milkbone dipped in peanut butter. Thor came from a household with children. He would be happiest in an active household where he can run, jump and be merry.

New dogs at the shelter include a shepherd/yellow lab mix found in Wilton.

Franklin County Animal Shelter is located at 550 Industry Rd.
