FARMINGTON — Elizabeth “Stu” Mehlin of New Sharon will be SugarWood Gallery’s featured artist of the month in June.
An open house reception will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 3; and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 4.
Works in the exhibit will be numbered to reflect where each fits in a sequence. The earliest were created when the United States won an America’s Cup race that was televised. Mehlin said she started with photos of the yacht race taken from the TV and then progressed to works in pastel and finally oil paintings.
SugarWood Gallery is at 248 Broadway. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
