LEWISTON — Cindy Leavitt of Auburn, known to many as the Toothfairy, was recently awarded the Wellness Works Award by the 100 Pine Street Wellness and Recovery Center of Lewiston.

The Wellness Works Award recognizes contributions which encourage the membership of the center with their hopes and abilities to advance wellbeing and support growth and independence.

Leavitt had assisted the center with understanding the importance of good dental health care. Leavitt, along with Stacy Cobb, a director of the board of Common Ties Mental Health, had assessed the dental health status of a number of the members of the Wellness and Recovery Center. Plans are underway to connect members of the center with area dental practices.

Common Ties Mental Health and the 100 Pine Street Wellness and Recovery Center provide an array of community support services to persons who have a mental health illness. Wellness and recovery are important outcomes for individuals at center.
