AUBURN — Normand Roland Dehetre, 72, a resident of River Road, Livermore Falls, died Friday, June 24, in Auburn, on his way home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Dec. 9, 1938, in Lewiston, the son of Alphee and Melvina (Roy) Dehetre. Normand attend Edward Little High School in Auburn. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960, during the Vietnam War.
On June 17, 1993, he married Tammy Walker of Livermore. He worked at Murray Truck Stop in Turner. Normand was the original organizer and member of the Golden Friendship Club and the Senior Dance Club.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Dehetre of Livermore Falls; two sons, Glenn D. Dehetre and his wife, Alison, of Turner and Gregg Dehetre of Hebron; two daughters, Kim Sands and her husband, Gregg, of Turner and Karen Dehetre and companion, Tim, of Minot; four grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Jessica Lee Walker of Lisbon Falls and Tabatha Lena Tullo of Lewiston; four great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert Dehetre and his wife, Joan, of Lewiston; and his sister, Charmaine Regina Dehetre of Biddeford.
