LEWISTON — Police in Lewiston are investigating a Sunday night fight on Horton Street that led to one man being stabbed and another being taken to an area hospital after being beaten with a collapsible baton.

Lewiston Police Lt. Adam Higgins said that no names were being released as of Sunday night as police continue their investigation into the incident. The stabbing was reported at about 9:15 p.m. on Horton Street between Pine and Ash streets. The parties are all believed to be in their late teens or early 20s.

Higgins said that authorities believe the fight involved three or four people and that one man was stabbed with a knife during the altercation. That man declined medical treatment and told police he did not want to press charges, according to Higgins.

A second man was taken to an area hospital by ambulance with injuries to his arm. Higgins said that witnesses said the man was hit with a collapsible baton, but that weapon had not been recovered. An officer was on the way to the hospital Sunday night to see if the second man involved wanted to press charges.
