LIVERMORE FALLS — A local man faces a second charge of theft by receiving stolen property after police arrested him at 1:54 a.m. Sunday.

Jonathan Adkins, 18, of Jay, is accused of stealing a three-wheeler from an abandoned downtown residence and unlawfully being in possession of scheduled drugs, Livermore Falls police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.

Adkins, whose address was listed as Livermore Falls in June, was issued a summons on June 23 on a charge of theft by receiving stolen property pertaining to two burglaries at homes on Pleasant and Knapp streets.

Among the items stolen in those burglaries were jewelry, cash, prescription medication, a digital camera and a PSP player with seven games. Some of the items were found in Adkins’ possession last month, Steward said earlier.

Adkins was released on personal recognizance bail by the court on the new charges on Sunday, according to a corrections officer at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn.

Adkins is due in Lewiston District Court in connection to the initial case on Wednesday.
