AUBURN — Karen A. Spencer, 68, a resident of Auburn, died Tuesday, July 12, at the Hospice House, following a brief illness, with family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston, April 27, 1943, the daughter of William and Rose A. (Gilbert) Colburn. Karen grew up in East Auburn and was a graduate of Edward Little High School. She married the love of her life, Donald Spencer on July 15, 1960.

Her hobbies included making crafts, art, quilting and knitting. She also loved to dance and enjoyed swimming, especially at Range Pond and Popham Beach.

Survivors include her mother, Rose Bouchard of Auburn; two daughters, Cindy Vachon and her husband, Jeffrey, of Saco and Vicky Haley and her husband, Jonathan, of Palm Coast, Fla.; one sister, Kathy Bouchard and her husband, Dan O’Leary, of Scarborough; six grandchildren, Brandi Swanson and her husband, Erik, Devyn Cote, Kyle Vachon, Keagan Cote, Jagger Haley and Lovie Haley.

Besides her father, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald Spencer; and one brother, Kenneth Colburn.
