AUBURN — Roger G. Letourneau, 84, of Lewiston died following a brief illness on July 13, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.
He was born in Auburn, Feb. 22, 1927, the son of Pierre and Marie Jeanne (Provencher) Letourneau. He attended schools in Lewiston and later served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
On Aug. 15, 1969, he married Lucille Morin. He worked in many various local shoe shops until his retirement.
Roger was a man who loved to keep busy, in his garden, woodworking, string art and always loved to be outdoors. In his later years, he loved to follow the political scene on a daily basis.
He is survived by his wife of almost 42 years, Lucille of Lewiston; his son, Ronnie Letourneau and wife, Debbie, of Poland; his daughters, Dianne Dorr and husband, Doug, of Grants Pass, Ore., and Carol York and husband, Donald, of Mechanic Falls; his grandchildren, Scott Letourneau, Jody Cloutier and wife, Kristy and Jason Cloutier; his great-grandson, John Cloutier; his sisters, Jeannine Fillion of South Carolina, and Annette Dufresne of Cumberland; one stepson, Jeff Chartier of Alabama; and three stepgrandchildren, Michael, Audra and Alex.
