PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Maine motorists who think they’re seeing higher prices at the pump are right.

A price-watching website says the average price of gas has risen 4.9 cents per gallon in the past week, to $3.79 per gallon. MaineGasPrices.com says prices Sunday were $1.04 per gallon higher than they were the same day one year ago, and 7.8 cents higher than a month ago.

The website also says Maine’s price compares with the national average, which has increased only 3 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.67 per gallon.
