EAST WILTON — Robert E. “Bob” Campbell, 68, died late Saturday morning, Aug. 6, at his home in East Wilton.
He was born March 31, 1943, in York, a son of Carleton B. and Ruth F. Townsend Campbell. He attended school in southern Maine before enlisting in the U.S. Army.
He worked the majority of his life for the King family in their paving business in East Wilton, who took him in as one of their own family and cared for him over the past 30 years. He was a devoted worker and friend who enjoyed their company very much. During his last few years he liked riding around in his pickup truck “junking.”
He had three sisters growing up, Gloria J. Motyka, Patricia A. Gregorie and Carlene R. Paris; nieces and nephews.
