PHILLIPS — Several roads will be closed over the weekend to accommodate Old Home Days events.
On Friday, Aug. 19, from 4:45 to 6:30 p.m., a section of Route 142 and Upper Park, Main and Pleasant streets will be closed for the duration of the Old Home Days Parade. Side roads to those routes also will be closed.
After the parade, Main Street will be closed between Pleasant and Depot streets from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. for the street dance. In case of rain, the dance will be held at the Phillips Area Community Center on Depot Street, according to chamber spokeswoman Paula Kane.
On Saturday, roads will be closed from 8:45 to 11 a.m., including Pleasant, Depot and Main streets, for the children’s divisions of the Paul G. Whittemore Road Race.
From 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Russell and School streets, the Main Street section in front of the public library and Dodge Road will be closed for bicycle races.
On Sunday, Aug. 21, Main Street from Depot Street to the corner of Pleasant and Sawyer streets will be closed for the Children’s Parade.
