Lithuanian picnic
RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will host a picnic from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Black Mountain of Maine.
Authentic Lithuanian food will be available from 11:30 a.m. until sold out for a donation of $10 for adults and $6 for children under the age of 10. The food of the day will include a sampling of kugelis, kielbasa, beet soup and more.
Participants may bring your own picnic lunch and soft drink. A Christmas tree with homemade Lithuanian decorations will be on display along with dolls in authentic clothing. A professor visiting from Lithuania will give a presentation and answer questions on the old country.

Car show
DIXFIELD — The Dirigo High School Class of 2012 will host the 2nd annual Car Show on Sunday, Aug. 21, at Harlow Park. Gates open at 9 a.m. Voting ends at 1 p.m.
There are 10 classes, with trophies for top three places in each class. Entry fee is $5 per car. Spectator fee is $2. There will be a 50/50, music and plenty of food. Proceeds go to Dirigo High School Class of 2012 for Project Grad.
Chicken barbecue
DIXFIELD — A chicken barbecue supper will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at the Dixfield Flea Market on Main Street. The meal includes beans, cole slaw, rolls, punch and cookies. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12.
The meal is sponsored by King Hiram Masonic Lodge #57.
Class of 1950
RUMFORD — The Stephens High School Class of 1950 is invited to meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at The River Valley Grill.
Class of 1949
BETHEL — Members of the Stephens High School Class of 1949 will meet for their regular monthly luncheon at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Pat’s Pizza.
Class of 1958
ANDOVER — Stephens High School Class of 1958 will have their annual field day at noon Saturday, Aug. 27, at Lee’s Field.
All classmates and their significant others are welcome. Deep fried turkey, hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided. Bring a dish to share.

Bert Knox benefit
CARTHAGE — A supper for the Knox family will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, from 5 p.m. until sold out, at the Carthage Community Building (Old Grange). Beans, spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, cole slaw, rolls, punch, coffee and pie; $6 adults, $3 ages 5-12, under 5 free. Sympathies are extended to the family and friends of Bert Knox. Reunion
SUMNER — The Sumner Schools Reunion will be Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Congregational Church Vestry in East Sumner. The group will gather at 10:30 a.m. to visit and plan next year’s reunion. A potluck dinner will be served at noon. Beverage will be provided.
