BETHEL — Guitarist Bill Docos will bring the Mahoosuc Arts Council’s free, summer bandstand series to a close on Sunday, Aug. 28.

Docos taught himself to play guitar some 25 years ago and has played throughout America as well as in the Ukraine, Canada and Greenland. He plays electric and acoustic guitars, including his own hand-built, seven-string acoustic guitar. He recently played guitar with his 12-year-old son at the Frantasia Festival.

Mixing jazz fusion with an improvised finger-style, Docos plays at restaurants, wine-tastings and many other venues, and sits in as a studio guitarist for artists and friends in the New England area.

The concert will begin at 4 p.m. at Bethel Common. Bring a chair or a blanket. If it rains, the performance will be moved to Bingham Auditorium, 45 Church St. For more information, call 824-3575 or visit www.MahoosucArts.org.
