SKOWHEGAN — Michael Troy Rainey, 40, recently of Skowhegan was a gifted musician, a loving father and dedicated son. He was sadly taken on Thursday, Aug. 18, to be with his Lord.
Mike was born at Stephens Memorial Hospital on May 2, 1971, to Susan and the late Edgar Rainey. A sweet and rambunctious youngster, Mike graduated from Telstar Regional High School. He grew to become an accomplished guitarist and worked in various venues throughout his life. His band “Stone Fish” performed locally and attracted a wide audience.
Besides his mother, Michael is survived by his grandmothers, Zylpha Gibbs and Mirja Rainey; children, Ross, Nathan, Rachel, Evan Rainey and Chasity Pike; his brother, Jeffrey Rainey and wife, Tracy; his nephews, Jacob and Joshua; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
