FARMINGTON — The United Way of the Tri-Valley Area and the Franklin Volunteer Network will offer the workshop, Building a First Rate Volunteer Program, from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, Sept. 9, at Olsen Student Center on the campus of the University of Maine at Farmington.
A popular consultant in volunteer management, training and facilitation from southern Maine, Anne B. Schink, will present the program.
The presentation is free to Franklin Volunteer Network members and costs $10 for non-members (reimbursable to organizations or individuals who join the Network).
Volunteers contribute energy and enthusiasm to build a strong organization, and help to share an important story in the community. Drawing from the book “The Charismatic Organization,” Schink will present the eight ways to grow a nonprofit that builds buzz, delights donors, energizes employees and engages volunteers.
This workshop is appropriate for a wide spectrum of organizations — from libraries and ATV clubs to land trusts and health and human service nonprofits.
