Toy run

AUGUSTA — The United Bikers of Maine will hold the annual toy run from Augusta to Windsor on Sunday, Sept. 11.

Participants will get organized at the Augusta Civic Center, with the ride beginning promptly at noon.

Organizers are expecting between 16,000 and 20,000 bikers to donate between 9,000 and 14,000 toys to be distributed to Maine children this holiday season.

MEXICO — Mexico High School, class of 1948, will meet for their monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Covered Wagon Restaurant, 29 Main St.

Rail rally

BETHEL — The Northern New England Rally for Rail Passenger Rail, “It’s up to us!” will have Dana Connors, president of Maine State Chamber of Commerce and former MDOT commissioner, speak at their community based approach to advocacy event. It will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the Bethel Inn Resort. The cost is $25 per person and lunch is provided. Class of 1948
