CANTON — The 21st annual Allanach family reunion was held recently at the home of Betty York. The gathering included the descendants of Christopher and Eva Allanach. Traveling the farthest distance were Ron Allanach, Ben Jung Lorgeranon and Sgan Jung Don Ho from Vancouver, B.C., Canada. The youngest attendee was Alyssa Rose Farrar and eldest was Edith LeBlanc.
There were no marriages, one new birth and one death during the year. The names of deceased members were read by president Betty York followed by a moment of silent prayer.
The officers elected for the coming year are president Rachel Carlton, vice president Malcolm Haynes and secretary/treasurer Joyce Carlton. Nicole Sylvester is on the gift committee.
Door prizes were won by Ben Jung Lorgeranon, Ariana LeBlanc and Jack Sylvester. Other gifts were given to Ron Allanach, Edith LeBlanc and Alyssa Farrar.
A pot luck dinner followed the business meeting. Next year the family reunion will be held on July 14 at the home of John and Bonnie Harbottle at Wells.
Those attending came from Bangor, East Sumner, Greene, Greenville, Hartford, Livermore Falls, New Gloucester, North Jay, Wells, West Sumner and Canton; New Hampshire; St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Vancouver, B.C., Canada.
