MECHANIC FALLS — The Northeast Invitational Country Showdown, hosted by the Down East Country Music Association, will be held Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 22-23, at the Silver Spur.
Then on Saturday, Oct. 29, the association will put on its Country Music Saturday Night Show & Dance at the Litchfield Sportsman Club in Litchfield.
Competition at the showdown will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 22; an awards show will be held at 1 p.m. on Oct. 23. Award winners from New England States will participate.
There will be a food bar, 50/50 drawing and raffles.
Admission each day is $7 for adults, $3 for children under 12. For more information, call 793-8884 or 674-3104.
Entertainment at the Oct. 29 show and dance will be provided from 1 to 7 p.m. by Lolalee & The Country Bandits, the Wildwood Band, Potpourri, Bill Giasson & Friends, Gary Leet & Richard Ridley, Bill Grover, Jim G. and Shirley B.
There will be a food bar, raffles, 50/50 drawing and homemade sweets and dessert table.
Admission is $5. The Litchfield Sportsman Club is on Hallowell Road.
