LEWISTON — Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice presented the Robert D. Turcotte Award to two individuals at the spring volunteer recognition events held in Auburn, Farmington and Bethel. The award is presented in honor of Robert Turcotte, an Auburn resident, who was treasurer of the Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice’s board of directors from 1978 until his death in 1982. Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice gives this award in acknowledgement of outstanding contributions to the promotion of home health care.
The 2011 award recipients are:
Jacquie Emond of Lewiston, has been a hospice and bereavement volunteer since 2004. Emond is a go-to volunteer for some of the most complicated assignments and approaches each with compassion, empathy and caring.
Bret Dowd of Mechanic Falls, has been a hospice, bereavement and vigil support volunteer since 2008. Dowd has been able to connect with patients of all ages, their families and even their pets.
“Our volunteers are vital and highly regarded members of our hospice team. They are integral in providing compassionate care to our patients and families. We are honored to recognize the leadership and commitment of these award recipients,” stated Julie Shackley, AHCH President/CEO.
