NEW VINEYARD — Robert Edward Kennedy, 84, of New Vineyard, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, Oct. 27.

He was born March 19, 1927, in New Vineyard, the son of Wallace M. and Everdine (Ashcroft) Kennedy. He was educated in the schools of New Vineyard and Farmington.

On March 25, 1950, he married Mazie I. Parlin, who predeceased him on Sept. 12, 1981.

Robert was a life-long resident of New Vineyard, served his country in World War II in the U.S. Army, and worked at Maine Dowel Co. since May 1965. He loved working with wood and could fix anything. Robert also enjoyed visiting with family and friends and reminiscing about old times.

Robert is survived by his son, Samuel Kennedy and his companion, Kim Mattson, of New Vineyard and her children, Colby Dunham, Brandon, Kaitlyn and Mikala Bressette; a grandchild, Latara Little of Pittsfield; three great-grandchildren, Ean, Trenton and Neana; a nephew, Arthur “Rusty” Kennedy; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Kennedy.

He was predeceased by his wife; his brother, Arthur; and his sister, Marion Kennedy.
