LEWISTON — Mayoral candidate Stanley Pelletier has the largest campaign bank account, according to financial reports filed with the city clerk this week.

But Pelletier has the fewest number of contributors among the five mayoral candidates, according to the reports. His only campaign contribution, $5,500, came from his wife.

Councilor Ron Jean donated $1,600 from his own pocket but picked up another $225 from three contributors for a total of $1,885.

Mayoral candidate Robert Mcdonald had the smallest account but notched contributions from 19 individuals. Contributors include former City Councilor Normand Rousseau, former Republican legislator Tom Shields of Auburn and Lewiston pastor Doug Taylor.

Former City Councilor Mark Paradis had $2,010 in cash contributions. That included $350 from his account and from his wife, Ronella. Paradis also picked up donations from former Mayor Larry Raymond, County Commissioner Elaine Makas and several local businesses.

Candidate Walter Hill had the second-largest campaign bank account, taking in $2,140. That included donations from former Mayor John Orestis, Auburn City Councilor Dan Herrick and Lewiston City Councilor John Butler.

Libby spent $1,744 on literature and signs. He collected $1,752.21 in donations, including cash from Ward 5 candidate Craig Saddlemire and Maine People’s Alliance Communications Director Michael Tipping.
